NVAA Memorial ScholarshipThe NVAA Memorial Scholarship was instituted in 1982 to support the study of real estate at the collegiate level and to promote careers in real estate management. The Northern Virginia Apartment Association is committed to attracting, developing and retaining candidates for careers in real estate management and annually awards scholarships up to $1,500 to students seeking a college education in the field of real estate management. The NVAA Memorial Scholarship is available to students who have a declared major in real estate. We are committed to supporting the study of real estate and the many opportunities available in real estate management. Scholastic standing, honors received and activities are weighed heavily in the evaluation process. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have an application for citizenship pending and be legal residents of Northern Virginia which includes the cities, towns and counties located in Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William and Stafford. Applicants should be incoming college freshmen or current college students. Preference will be given to full-time students attending educational institutions located in the state of Virginia. The NVAA conducts the administration of this program through the Memorial Scholarship Committee. Each year the committee will publish the scholarship application in the NVAA Times Newsletter and on the website. The Committee will review and consider each application and make their recommendation for the scholarship award to the Board of Directors. The scholarship will be awarded sixty days following the deadline date.
