NVAA— The Natural Forum for Owners, Managers and Providers of Rental Properties in Northern Virginia Northern Virginia Apartment Association (NVAA) is an advocate for quality rental housing. NVAA’s mission is to serve the interests of multi-family housing owners, managers and service providers. NVAA strives to maintain a high level of professionalism in the multi-family housing industry to better serve the rental housing needs of the public. We provide legislative and regulatory representation and communicate current trends and issues to our members. Our members represent all facets of the multi-family housing industry; apartment owners, management executives, developers, builders, investors, property managers, leasing consultants, maintenance personnel, service providers and related business professionals throughout Northern Virginia. NVAA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and Committees. The Board of Directors plays a vital role in the functions and accomplishments of NVAA. Participation is critical to the association’s ability to carry out its mission and goals. Committees represent, involve and serve members, while providing a framework for educating future leaders of the association. The Committee promotes member participation in problem solving and provides a forum for the many interests within the association, utilizing the experience, knowledge and skills of our members. NVAA provides a wealth of information through advocacy, education and strategic partnerships. NVAA protects and represents our members’ interest with regard to legislative and regulatory issues at the local and state level. Our owner members view our legislative representation as one of the most valuable NVAA member benefits. To that extent we dedicate a substantial portion of our annual budget and our committee efforts towards representation on the legislative level that furthers our member’s interest. In addition, NVAA offers networking and business opportunities. Our purpose is to support an industry that offers safe, affordable multifamily housing to the public equitably compensates its workforce and provides investors with a fair and reasonable rate of return. Being involved in NVAA has been a great way for Urban Igloo to have exposure with the apartment management industry. Having the opportunity to serve on different committees within the association has made it an even richer experience. We are glad to be a part of NVAA. I have been an active member of NVAA for over eight years. There are two reasons that keep me so involved. First, the organization's commitment to offering educational classes that are topical, current, and varied in subject matter. Second, the numerous events that bring associates and owner/operators together outside of the office. It is our pleasure to be a part of the Northern Virginia Apartment Association. We look forward to meeting many new faces, and introducing ourselves to the organization via the many networking and social events. American Pool Virginia appreciates the business we already do with many of the Apartment Communities in Northern Virginia and we are excited to be a management and repair source for many more. Thanks to Janet Gallahan, Carydale Enterprises for asking us to be a part of the association! Scott A. Small NVAA offers great opportunities to network with the decision makers behind some of Northern Virginia’s finest apartment housing. The events committee does a great job planning informative, fun and affordable functions. Greg Werly, Client Manager
